This Privacy Policy explains how Quran Classes Singapore (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit our website, contact us or join our online Quran classes.
1. Who We Are
Quran Classes Singapore provides live, one-to-one online Quran classes for children and adults, mainly for families in Singapore. Our website is quranclassessingapore.com.
If you have any question about this policy or about your personal data, please contact Hafiz Muhammad Abid at quranclassessingapore@gmail.com.
2. Personal Data We Collect
We only ask for the details we need to reply to you and arrange your classes:
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Name | To address you properly and set up your classes |
| Country | To arrange class times that suit your time zone |
| WhatsApp number | To arrange classes and send progress reports |
| Email address | To reply to your enquiry and share class details |
| Course you are interested in | To suggest the right course and a suitable teacher |
You may also choose to tell us a preferred class time or add a short message, for example about the learner’s age or current level.
We do not ask for identity card or passport numbers, home addresses, or bank or card details.
3. How We Use Your Personal Data
We use your personal data only to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange your 3 free classes
- match you or your child with a suitable teacher
- schedule and deliver live online Quran classes
- send parents monthly test results and progress reports on WhatsApp
- review teaching quality so every student gets proper attention
- understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it
We do not send promotional or marketing messages, and we never sell your personal data.
4. Children’s Personal Data
Many of our students are children. For learners under 18, personal data is provided by a parent or guardian, who also makes the enquiry, gives consent and receives all communication about the classes.
- Progress reports and test results are shared only with the parent or guardian.
- A child’s personal data is never used for advertising or marketing.
- Parents and guardians can ask to see, correct or delete their child’s personal data at any time.
5. Class Recordings
Classes are recorded so our quality team can review how each lesson is taught. Here is how we handle recordings:
| Question | Our practice |
|---|---|
| Why are classes recorded? | To review teaching quality and make sure each student receives proper attention |
| Who can watch them? | Only our quality team. Recordings of women’s and girls’ classes are reviewed only by our female staff. Parents can ask for a copy of their child’s recording. |
| How long are they kept? | Recordings are deleted after 30 days. |
| Are they used for marketing? | No. Recordings are never used for marketing, on our website or on social media. |
| Can I opt out? | Yes. If you prefer your child’s classes, or your own, not to be recorded, simply tell us. |
6. Payments
Fees are paid by bank transfer to our account. We do not collect or store your bank or card details. If you send us a payment receipt, we use it only to confirm your payment and never share it with anyone.
7. How Your Personal Data Is Shared
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. Within our academy, your details are seen only by the people who need them to run your classes, such as your teacher and our admissions and quality team.
We communicate and hold classes using WhatsApp, email, and video platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. Information you share through these services is also handled by those companies under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose personal data where the law requires us to do so.
8. Cookies and Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited, the type of device and browser used, and the general location a visit comes from. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information, and we look at it only in overall, statistical form.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The website will still work if you do.
9. Our Contact Form
If you contact us through the form on our Contact Us page, we receive the details you enter (your name, country, WhatsApp number, email address, chosen course and any optional message) by email. We use them only to reply to you and arrange classes. To block spam, the form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a real person is sending the message. reCAPTCHA collects information such as your IP address and how you interact with the page, and its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
10. How We Protect Your Personal Data
We take reasonable steps to protect personal data from unauthorised access, use, disclosure or loss. Access is limited to the people who need it to run your classes, and class recordings are deleted after 30 days. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
11. Your Choices and Rights
We aim to handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). You can contact us at any time to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you or your child
- ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your personal data
- ask us not to record your classes
Please email quranclassessingapore@gmail.com with your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity, or your relationship to a child, before we act on it. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to continue providing classes.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
