Getting Started

How do your online Quran classes work?

Every class is live and one-to-one: one student with one teacher. Lessons take place on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, and your teacher listens as you read, correcting pronunciation and Tajweed during the lesson. You can read more about how our online Quran classes work.

Who can join your Quran classes?

Children and adults at any level can join, from complete beginners learning the Arabic letters to students who already read and want to improve their Tajweed or memorise the Quran.

Can I learn if I can’t read Arabic at all?

Yes. Beginners start with Basic Qaida, similar to the Iqra books many Singapore families know. It teaches the Arabic letters, their sounds and how they join, and then students move on to reading the Quran itself.

I learned as a child but have forgotten most of it. Can I start again?

Yes. During the free trial your teacher checks your current level, and lessons start from where you are, so you only go back to the basics if you need to.

How do I enrol?

It takes four simple steps:

  1. Message us on WhatsApp or by email and tell us who the classes are for.
  2. Our admissions team replies promptly with class details and a suitable teacher.
  3. Take your 3 free classes with that teacher.
  4. If you are happy, pay for the package you choose and continue your classes.

What should I look for when choosing an online Quran class in Singapore?

Look for qualified teachers you can read about before you start, one-to-one lessons, a female teacher option for girls and women, class times that fit Singapore time, clear monthly fees, a free trial and regular progress updates. You can check each of these for our academy on this page and in our teacher profiles.

Our Quran Teachers

Are your Quran teachers qualified?

Yes. All 12 of our teachers have memorised the whole Quran (Hifz), 9 have also completed the Dars-e-Nizami course, and each holds an Ijazah with sanad. You can meet our Quran teachers and see each teacher’s qualifications and teaching experience.

Can my daughter or wife learn with a female Quran teacher?

Yes. We have 5 female teachers. Girls and women are taught by female teachers, and boys and men by male teachers.

Can I choose my teacher?

Yes. You can ask for a particular teacher when you contact us, and we will do our best to arrange your classes with them.

Can I change my teacher?

Yes. If a teacher’s style does not suit you or your child, tell us and we will arrange a different teacher.

What happens if my teacher is unavailable?

Another teacher of the same gender takes the class whenever possible, so it does not have to be cancelled. If that is not possible, the class is made up later.

What language are the classes taught in?

All classes are taught in English, for both children and adults.

Class Times, Scheduling and Technology

What class times are available in Singapore?

You choose a time that suits you in Singapore time (SGT), including early mornings, after school, evenings and weekends. Parents pick the time that fits their child’s routine.

How long is each Quran class?

Most classes are 30 minutes. Hifz (memorisation) classes are 1 hour, and any course can be taken as a 1-hour class if you prefer.

How many days a week are the classes?

You can choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 days a week. For example, 2 days a week works out at about 8 to 9 classes a month.

What do I need for online Quran classes?

A phone, tablet or laptop with a stable internet connection. Classes run on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, so you can use whichever you are comfortable with.

Do I have to turn my camera on?

No. Keeping your camera on or off is your choice.

What happens if the internet disconnects during a class?

If a connection problem cuts a class short, the missed minutes are added on. If the class cannot take place at all, it is made up, usually at the weekend.

Can I reschedule a class?

Yes. Let us know at least 30 minutes before the class starts and we will arrange another time.

Can I pause classes for holidays or travel?

Yes. You can pause your classes and continue when you are back.

What happens during Ramadan and school holidays?

During Ramadan and Eid, class times are adjusted with each student. During school holidays, extra classes can be arranged if you would like to make faster progress.

Children and Parents

Are online Quran classes suitable for young children?

Yes. Classes are short and one-to-one, so the teacher can keep a young child engaged and move at their pace. The 3 free classes are a good way to see how your child settles into online lessons.

How will I know how my child is progressing?

Every student takes a short test each month on their recitation and Tajweed, and parents receive progress reports on WhatsApp showing how their child is doing and where they need more practice.

Are the classes recorded?

Classes are recorded so our team can review how each lesson is taught and give teachers feedback. If you prefer your child’s classes not to be recorded, simply tell us. Our Privacy Policy explains how recordings are handled.

Can brothers and sisters learn at the same time?

Yes. Each child has their own private class at their own level, and a sibling discount is available. Message us for details.

Do children learn anything besides reading the Quran?

Yes. Islamic Studies suited to the student’s age is included at no extra cost with every Quran course: the Six Kalimahs, Masnoon Duas, how to perform Wudu and Salah, the fundamentals of Islam, and the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

What is the difference between Qaida, Nazra, Tajweed and Hifz?
